 | Inspired by true life heroes, these are two of Walt's most exciting television shows, ELFEGO BACA and THE SWAMP FOX. Elfego Baca is a gunfighter (Robert Loggia) in the old west who changes his ways to become sheriff and then a lawyer. Elfego deals with rampaging cowboys, outlaws and more in this exciting series about law and order on the frontier. The Swamp Fox stars Leslie Nielsen (who starred in the classic film "Forbidden Planet," and would later become famous for the "Airplane" and "Naked Gun" movies) as Revolutionary War hero Francis Marion. This patriot fought the British using unusual methods, and became known as "The Swamp Fox." In this superb series, Marion matches wits with the Tories in a story of adventure and action. Bonus materials will include an interview with Robert Loggia, star of "Elfego Baca;" "Tales of Courage and Adventure" a featurette that examines the origins of these historical figures and the fascinating story of their lives, still frame galleries fr... | | Family Guy, Vol. 1 To the ranks of shows too brilliant and outrageous for prime time ( The Ben Stiller Show, Andy Richter Controls the Universe ), add Seth McFarland's Family Guy . This animated series, which debuted after the 1999 Super Bowl, simply sparked too much controversy and offended too many sensibilities to survive ( Entertainment Weekly dubbed it "the Awful Show They Just Keep Putting on the Air"). That the Fox network also played hackysack with its schedule, ensuring viewers would not be able to find it, sealed its fate (it was cancelled in 2002). The Volume 1 boxed set containing all 28 episodes from the first two seasons is payback for the show's devoted cult following, who may be moved to echo the words of infant Stewie Griffin, the megalomaniacal 1-year-old bent on matricide and world domination: "Victory is mine!" Family Guy, Vol. 2 The third and final network season of Seth MacFarlane's late, lamented Family Guy finds television's most dysfunctional cartoon family... (less)20th Century Fox | $55 amazon.com |

| | This DVD boxed set shows Tyrone Power as Twentieth Century Fox (that is, Fox head honcho Darryl F. Zanuck) saw him: handsome, dashing, prone to swordplay and adventure. Zanuck's instincts were in tune with what audiences wanted to see from Ty Power, and the athletic actor was one of Hollywood's most popular stars from the late 1930s through his exit for WWII service--and he remained popular in the late 1940s, although he chafed at his limited casting opportunities. The real Tyrone Power may well have been more interesting than these movies suggest, although you wouldn't know it: he comes across as earnest, square, and unfailingly attractive. The earliest film in the set is the 1941 Blood and Sand , a Technicolor-crazed remake of the old Rudolph Valentino silent picture. Power plays a hotshot matador caught between Linda Darnell's faithful wife and Rita Hayworth's naughty femme fatale (Anthony Quinn scores nicely in a small role as a super-cool rival matador). Director Rouben Mamo... (less) Director: Henry Hathaway ♦ Actors: Tyrone Power, Orson Welles, Cécile Aubry, Jack Hawkins, Michael Rennie | $8 - $20 15 Merchants |

| | Where's My Puppy? is a charming story meant to entertain as it gently instructs young children to stay out of danger by not wandering from their "safety zone". The story is about Scruffy, an adorable little puppy who escapes his backyard home one sunny afternoon and becomes lost. After his family's long and frantic search, assisted by neighbors and Police Officer Kathy, Scruffy is returned home to a joyous reunion. Through this loss and rescue, Where's My Puppy? offers a subtle message to young children to stay safely within the watchful eye of their parents, even while playing close to home. This book was inspired by the real life story of five-year-old Brittany Fish who was abducted in Syracuse, NY on April 24, 2004, while riding a scooter near her home. A massive search by police and volunteers turned up only her discarded scooter. Nearly twenty-four hours later, Brittany was miraculously found alive. She was discovered under a tarp in an abandoned warehouse, bound in duct tape. The Fish case has been featured twice on Fox TV's, America's Most Wanted and once on the America's Most Wanted radio show. Where's My Puppy? was authored by Brittany's Aunt, Linda Slifka, in hopes that the story might keep other children safe from harm. (less) | $4 BetterWorld.com - New, Used, Rare Books & Textbooks |
