 | After 2000's incredible 3-disc set Xen Cuts , Zen delivers another journey into turntablism as only a label like Ninja Tune can provide. With such wildly creative artists spinning under their banner, it's no wonder the label loves a good compilation. Artists like Coldcut, Kid Koala, and The Herbalizer compose in their sleep, dreaming of wax like the rest of us do sheep. Zen focuses on those dreams, cherry-picking some of the more ambient breaks for a mix that hovers over the decks, like a ghost, sampled and spun along with the music. The tracks here are a bit overly-familiar; Amon Tobin's "Get Your Snack On," brilliant though it is, has been included on comps like this once too often already. Still, the 2-disc set has a plan: Disc 1 is the smooth one, the yin to Disc 2's yang, which cuts and scratches with more edge and "street" experimentalism. Sometimes, the smooth and the edgy tangle up, like Sarah Jones' eyes-wide-open rhyme in DJ Vadim's otherwise sleepy "Your Revolution." Thos... (less)Artist: Various Artists | $11 - $15 6 Merchants |
| | Zen has been known in the West through different forms of practice including martial arts, the tea ceremony, the art of flower arrangement and the layout of gardens. However trying to discover Zen in our modern, hectic pace of life and channel its message of peace and harmony into self-expression and creativity is a challenge. A garden can create the space that we need to free our mind for creative exploration. Music also plays a very important part in creating the right atmosphere for Zen meditation and in this ethnospheric album you will hear music written to aid contemplation and meditation. Let your mind, body and spirit dance to the enticing rhythms of voice, flutes, violin, percussion and nature sounds, and enter a sanctuary of peace within you. An 8-page booklet accompanies this album, giving you useful information on Zen Gardens and Zen Meditation. It is a unique introduction for those who are becoming interested in Zen, and a source of inspiration for those who hav... (less)Artist: Colin Willsher | $10 - $15 2 Merchants |

| | We all seek a state of higher consciousness that awakens and enlivens our whole being. Masters of meditation and yoga, great artists, inventors and highly accomplished people in many walks of life have learned to develop and live from such a state. British researcher and Zen master C. Maxwell Cade spent decades analyzing the brainwave patterns of these extraordinary people. He discovered that they each shared a common pattern of brainwaves, which Cade called the Awakened Mind Pattern, and which he believed holds the key to tapping into one’s highest potential for clarity of mind, deep insight, creative inspiration, and peak performance. Created by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson, The Awakened Mind System uses breakthrough audio recording processes to help you access this brainwave pattern so that you can directly experience the enormous benefits of this heightened state of consciousness. Dr. Thompson embeds inaudible pulses of sound which mirror the Awakened Mind Pattern into an ambient m... (less)Artist: Dr. Jeffrey D. Thompson | $7 - $13 9 Merchants |
| | Akasau is an avant-garde musical hybrid featuring Kirilola, one of the founding members of the groundbreaking Japanese pop group, Ex-Girls. This disc finds Kirilola at her creative, spiritual best and highlights the beauty and power of the human voice. Minimal instrumentation allows Kirilola’s haunting vocals to shine through Zen-like sonic textures and traditional Japanese sounds, while a healing array of vibratory frequencies work to stimulate each of the chakras. Truly a cutting edge album, Akasau fascinates and soothes, while taking the listener on a spiritual journey transcending space and time. (less)Artist: Akasau | $10 - $16 7 Merchants |

| | The second album by COYOTE ZEN, Medicine Dog, was released on December 10, 2001, on Oklahoma based PAW Records. COYOTE ZEN is the creation of noted composer/engineer/producer, Jeffrey Gray Parker, of Tahlequah,Oklahoma.Taking the concept that was established on COYOTE ZEN’S first release, Blood of Many Nations, Parker stretches his creative horizons to weave many contemporary world music influences into the twelve song selections on Medicine Dog. As with his last record, multi-instrumentalist Parker explores even deeper into his one-man-band approach to making music, to present a record that fuses many styles that come together to make a musical statement that is deep in many cultural sounds from all around the world. But, Parker also understands the interplay and magic that comes from collaboration, and features on Medicine Dog several first-rate musicians, and a guest spoken-word performer. As Medicine Dog was going into the final stages of production, Parker! wrote “Cow Hop... (less)Artist: Coyote Zen | $10 - $13 2 Merchants |
