It is denser, thicker and approximately 30% heavier than regular clay. These characteristics allow for a durable, smooth, flat surface on large fixtures not attainable with standard vitreous china. PLEASE NOTE: Fireclay kitchen sinks have slight variations in size, and also all four sides of kitchen sink have a slight pitch. We highly recommend the kitchen sink be on site when cabinets are being ordered or manufactured. Not recommended for installation with a laminate countertop.  (less)
