 | Living Colour will release their first new studio album in five years entitled The Chair In The Doorway on September 15 via Megaforce Records. Living Colour formed in NYC and still contains the original members Vernon Reid, Corey Glover, Will Calhoun and (since 1993) Doug Wimbish. The legendary downtown NYC rock band, who exploded out of CBGB's in the late '80s and landed all over MTV, the cover of Rolling Stone and stadium stages around the world with their Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum debut album Vivid, are back and "fierce" as ever. The band gathered at Sono Studios outside of Prague in The Czech Republic during the fall of 2008 and spring of 2009 to write and record what would become The Chair In The Doorway. The results stretch from the modern soul anthem "Behind The Sun" to the politically-charged, heavy rock of "DecaDance to the sacred steel blues of "Bless Those. The artwork for The Chair In The Doorway was compiled from thousands of contest entries by fans from arou... (less)Artist: Living Colour | $8 - $16 8 Merchants |

 | Escape the Fate, This War Is Ours. This release marks the debut of singer Craig Mabbit (ex-Bless The Fall). | In today's worship-crazed phase of Christian pop, Mercy Me fits right in with smooth melodies, passionate lyrics, and a vertical focus. Yet the transition from worship band to major-label act demands more. Almost There promises just enough to allow it to rise above its inconsistencies. Prayer of Jabez-inspired "Bless Me Indeed" is a glimmer of brilliance where the group brings it all together, but it's the poignancy and power of "I Can Only Imagine" that testifies to Mercy Me's great potential. The dramatic ballad captures a believer's hope for the afterlife and is fueled by Bart Millard's authoritative vocals. The song will continue to be a staple in church worship services for years to come. Then there are the not so brilliant moments, including the cheesy "House of God" and "All Fall Down." Weak moments aside, Almost There offers enough fireworks to make Mercy Me an act to watch. --Michael Lyttle (less)Artist: MercyMe | $7 - $20 12 Merchants |

 | The Originals languished on Motown's roster until Marvin Gaye took an interest in their career in 1968. Soon he'd produced and cowritten two Top 5 soul hits for the smooth quartet. The doo-wop-influenced "Baby I'm for Real" and "The Bells" are hardly the only highlights of this compilation, though--"God Bless Whoever Sent You" and the later disco smash "Down to Love Town" are near classics that deserve the new light that falls on them here. Most rewarding for Gaye fans will be an early, unreleased version of "Just to Keep You Satisfied," a song he later rewrote for Let's Get It On . --Rickey Wright (less)Artist: The Originals | $7 - $11 9 Merchants |

 | This experimental electro-grind duo is the end result of a sonic mind-meld of two Miami teenagers, Nabil Moo and Matt Mihana. These precocious teens sucked up every musical genre that crossed their path, from boy band pop to Timbaland electrobeat to grindcore. The result is one of the freshest sounds around. They became an overnight hit with their rock/screamo cover of Soulja Boy's "Crank Dat", which attracted over 50,000 plays per day on MySpace, then they caught the attention of Epitaph label owner Brett Gurewitz. Produced by Travis Richter of From First To Last. RIYL: Escape The Fate, Bless The Fall, Chiodos. (less)Artist: I Set My Friends on Fire | $9 - $16 8 Merchants |
